One of the most important streets for the population of Irapuato since the beginning of its history has been Vicente Guerrero Street, or as it was known in colonial times: Real Street.
Real Street started from the Plaza Mayor (Plaza Madero) heading north to the exit of the congregation of Irapuato, approximately where Torres Landa Boulevard is today.
The name of Calle Real was due to the fact that it was the street that connected with the royal road to Guanajuato. It continued to be known as Calle Real until the 1870s, when it began to be called Calle Vicente Guerrero, in honor of the hero of the Independence.
Guerrero Street has a great commercial importance: in it you will find cafes, shops, inns, schools. On this street we can see buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries such as the temple of San Francisquito or the Casa de las Diligencias. For this reason, since the beginning of its history, Guerrero Street has been one of the main streets of our historic center.
