Baroque-style temple dating from the eighteenth century. It is consecrated to San Jose, the putative father of Jesus Christ. It was built by the brotherhood of Otomi Indians, who constituted the largest population of indigenous people in the congregation of Irapuato during the colonial era. The members of the brotherhood used the temple to pray, celebrate masses for the deceased brothers, celebrate their patron saint every March 19 and elect their stewards. The Brotherhood of San José de Indios Otomíes existed at least until 1847.
